In addition to painting the trukks, I've also started to refocus on terrain. I got a foam cutter for Christmas, and since then I've bought a variety of supplies including a grass mat, a sky posterboard, and some trees.
I've also made some walls out of coffee stirrers, small bits of cut foam, and misc. bits. I'm trying to roughly match them to the GW plastic walls I got a while back, and while it's not to hard to see which is which, I'm pleased enough with the overall effect.
A tabletop gaming blog, with a vague bias towards Central/Eastern Europe and the Early Modern period.

WiP ork trukks
Happy New Year!
Switching gears back to Space Orks, here are a couple old trukk sculpts that needed extension so they wouldn't look *completely* ridiculous. Waaagh!!!

Ork Lootaz
It's all well and good to have some Burna Boyz handy to carve up da skrap, but eventually ya gotta cobble the scrap back together into a big shooty Deffgun!
So many gun barrels to drill, crap...

Ork Burna Boyz
So what little painting I've done lately has mostly been for Warhammer 40k, and has also been pretty basic. But today I assembled a bunch of burna boyz, each one at least a smidge converted, and I'm pretty pleased with the lot!

Life Changes
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child,
I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
-1st Corinthians, 13:11
Well.
I had a pretty good run of it, I guess. Played some fun games, did some clever converting and decent painting. Learned some history I might otherwise never have known. Met some cool people.
But the time is no longer right for me to indulge in such hobbies. We must move where life takes us, without clinging to the materialistic diversions that hold us back.

Another ork update
Yup, pretty pleased with how these colors are working out. Gotta go back and fix the boss' gold toof and the one ork's tongue...

I'm Back! WAAAAAAAGH!!!
So, I've gotten basically no hobby work done since Spring. But I'm trying to get back in the groove, so here is a test mini for my big impending 40k Ork Army repaint. The one with the knife is the actual test mini, the other one is from a few years ago, my first attempt at a bare minimum army repaint.
I will also be resuming various historical projects, so watch this space even if goofy sci-fi isn't your cup of tea...

More from the 41st Millenium (sort of)
For reference, a few additional Imperial Guard historical mash-ups. On the left is a Warlord Games ECW firelock, in the middle is a Perry Zouave, and on the right is a Perry Medieval Mercenary. All guns and arms are Cadian.
And some orks, painting in progress. Yes, I will be drilling out the gun barrels before they're done.
