Norse Kaiju

Haven't had much hobby inspiration lately, but I did eventually paint some big monster types for Of Gods and Mortals. The Frost Giant is, I think, an old Reaper mini. The Fenrisulfr is a plastic toy, and the Jormundgandr is a plaster knickknack that was $2 at Goodwill. Gripping Beast plastic vikings for scale.

This pic also has a Thor converted from a... Goliath Barbarian?

Early Medieval Commanders

Well I finished the commanders but my table isn't clean enough for an army shot. I've got a Viking chieftain as well as the two Frankish leaders. All three are Gripping Beast metals.

As a bonus, here's a size comparison with a typical GB plastic, and an action shot.

Vikings

Mostly minis I bought when GB first released their plastics, just rebased and touched up in some cases. Army shot only, I might pick out some favorites to highlight later, but honestly this bunch is pretty out-of-the-box.

Vikings

Just some plain Gripping Beast plastic vikings here. Painted years ago, with basing, shields and some washes added this past week. Shields probably need another pass...

Berserkers!

Years ago, I bought a bunch of Gripping Beast Viking plastics and Warlord Celt plastics for a project that never really came together. I've been revisiting my vikings, so as I touch them up and redo bases as needed, I'll post some here, along with the enemy armies I'm making in parallel.

So here are some berserks, Celt bodies with some Viking bits and heads.

Oh dear.

No. Please no. I can't afford a new project, I can't spare the money, the time, or even the space. This is extremely unfortunate.

Even if they'd make great foes for my Vikings.

What is dead cannot die...

...but rises again, tiny and plastic.

Here are some Ironborn test models for my Game of Thrones project. These guys are longboat-sailing raiders, so it was kind of a no-brainer to base them on Gripping Beast plastic vikings. I just mixed in a few Perry medieval bits, and some Warhammer bits, and a greenstuff beard. Oh, and throwing axes from Wargames Factory Persians.

Vikings!

Berserkers, to be specific. Built mostly from Warlod Games' Celts with bits from Gripping Beast's Vikings to make them properly, well, vikingish.
