The first three can be seen unpainted a couple posts back. The fourth is inspired by this thread, although I cut corners in a few places.
A tabletop gaming blog, with a vague bias towards Central/Eastern Europe and the Early Modern period.

A Motley Bunch
Here are four essentially unconnected miniatures. A boyar/noble of some sort, a Ottoman janissary, a poor boyar or village elder, and a Western-style musketeer.

I'm not dead yet
Just busy and tired. But I managed to throw together another batch of light cavalry.
Posting will continue to be sparse for the next few months, as I have both a vacation and a move coming up.

Miscellaneous conversions
I have *so many* WGF Persians. Here is one converted into a janissary, and another into a village elder or poor boyar or something. Some kinda angry bearded dude.
And also a better-equipped boyarish guy converted from a Warlord Games Celt leader.

Historical Mordheim
or perhaps "By Fire & Sword-heim".
The Poles use Marienburg rules (extra money at warband creation):
The Swedes use Reikland rules (better marksmen and leadership):
The Cossacks and Scots use Middenheim rules (stronger captains and champions):
A few new models here and there, but mostly you've already seen these. More warbands under construction...

Back-rank hussars painted
I may go back over the armor, hussar armor is supposed to be polished, not blackened.
And here they are as they were meant to be seen. Which is to say, "barely at all, hiding behind the proper metal hussars."
In most games, I'll probably split them up into two small units.

Hussar retainer conversions
I've been using unarmored Warlord cavalry for Polish light horse, so what to do with the 25% of the figures that are armored? Well, I guess the post title answers that question. As per the By Fire and Sword rulebook: "Retainers wore a similar style of armor [to the hussar companions], but it was much less decorated." Sounds good to me!
The horse will have gaps filled and mould lines fixed. Also, the shoulder armor may be refined a bit, the top plate isn't really shaped right yet.

dudes in tartan and hodden grey
Painted Scots. Oh, and happy Easter!
May have gotten a bit carried away with the tartan, on account of this thread. Oh well.
